Feature Story
Global Inventures to Finance Connected Home Roadmap

Global Inventures recently announced its funding support for the Connected Home Roadmap in partnership with the Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA). The Connected Home Roadmap is designed to accelerate the adoption of smart home technologies and applications. In addition, Global Inventures President and CEO Deepak Kamlani has been elected Chair of the Connected Home Roadmap Steering Committee.

The objective of the Connected Home Roadmap (CHRM) is to provide technology vendors with a roadmap for product development and market strategy by identifying applications and enabling technologies that have significant market potential over the next five years. The study is designed to identify market trends and opportunities, along with technology synergies and requirements, in the area of Connected Home applications and technologies. Through the technology roadmap process, companies in a given sector can pool their resources, to determine what their specific market will require for growth within a five-year time frame.

"With the pervasive availability of broadband communications and new technologies the Connnected Home market is moving towards the integration of previously independent systems. The CHRM study will examine the interoperability between systems and how optimal communication is achieved." said Deepak Kamlani, Steering Committee Chair and CEO of Global Inventures, Inc.. "The information we identify will allow industry, governments, academic institutions and research organizations to identify resource requirements and potential investment opportunities."

Through our status as a funding organization of the CHRM study, Global Inventures is pleased to provide our clients with unique access to the project including:

  • Initial influence on study areas and project direction;
  • Access to more in-depth information gained throughout the project;
  • Earlier access to the study results on an ongoing basis;
  • A better understanding of the findings and how they will impact their company;
  • The opportunity to direct the future.

Global Inventures believes that the Connected Home Roadmap, a critical piece of industry research, will aid the connected home industry in moving toward mass market adoption. The study involves consultation with all organizations in the connected home industry and addresses priority areas representing value propositions to consumers and service providers alike.

Inventures Service Spotlight
The Virtual Business Office

To make it easy for our managed associations to scale their basic operational functions in a predictable, economical manner, Global Inventures has packaged our core services into a Virtual Business Office (VBO) offering. The day-to-day functions critical to keeping a community running are included in the VBO, with reception, office administration, membership services, and financial operations.

The Facility and General Administration team is dedicated to managing inbound and outbound communication and daily operational tasks, including typical office management activity. This team also arranges the articles of incorporation and insurance needs of the community.

The Membership Services team approximates the Corporate Secretary function; it is dedicated to maintaining the membership records of the organization including membership agreements, participants, mailing list subscriptions, and member and prospect inquiries and responses.

The General Accounting and Financial Services team executes the Corporate Treasurer function; it is responsible for the financial management of the organization, including invoicing, collections, receivables and cash flow management, financial reporting, formal accounting audits and coordination with the IRS and State tax authorities.

Global Inventures' Virtual Business Office is an integral part of the management services offered to every collaborative community member, sized to the organization's lifecycle phase, method of working, and ongoing and variable needs. Our experts work hard behind the scenes to ensure that your community is always proactive, efficient, and meets member needs.
