San Ramon, Calif., April 21, 2010 – Global Inventures, Inc., a leading consultancy and management company specializing in forming, launching, and managing the collaborative business ecosystem announced that they will manage the newly restructured BioIT Alliance. The Alliance is now a fully independent entity incorporated in the State of Oregon and will function as a Translational Medicine Standards Organization.
The BioIT Alliance will focus on developing standards (data models, transmission standards) and technologies that enable the seamless movement of information between clinical and research environments for the purpose of driving translational medicine. The Alliance is positioning itself to bring scientific insights much faster to patients and to work closely with other standards organizations.

Accelrys, Greenway Medical, HP, Microsoft Life Science, Thermo Fisher and Waters Corporation join a current community of more than 100 members looking at establishing interoperability standards among Bio-IT technology suppliers and other health care technology standards groups to ensure effective interoperability.
