San Ramon, Calif., March 3, 2010 – Global Inventures, Inc., a leading consultancy and management company specializing in forming, launching, and managing the collaborative business ecosystem announced that they will manage the newly formed Open Identity Exchange (OIX), a non-profit, technology neutral, organization dedicated to building trust in the exchange of online identity credentials across public and private web sites.
The Open Identity Exchange was formed as a response to the Open Identify for Open Government initiative and grew out of an initial grant from the OpenID Foundation (OIDF) and the Information Card Foundation (ICF) to create a separate organization. OIX will serve as a trust framework provider and listing service, meaning their certification program will allow organizations and individuals to exchange digital credentials and to trust the identity, security, and privacy assertions associated with those credentials. Inventures had previously worked with both OIDF and ICF to lend their expertise in forming and launching the non-profit organization.
“Inventures is thrilled to continue our management consultant work that resulted in the formation of the Open Identity Exchange,” said Deepak Kamlani, President and CEO of Inventures. “This important organization will be instrumental in supporting an internet trust ecosystem.”
Founding members of OIX include Booz Allen Hamilton, CA, Equifax, Google, PayPal, Verisign and Verizon.
